Cookie Policy

How CheckPod uses cookies and browser storage — and why we don't track you.

Last updated: 25 May 2026 Effective: 25 May 2026

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website or use a web application. They help the app remember information about your visit and preferences.

CheckPod also uses browser storage technologies including localStorage and IndexedDB to enable offline functionality as a Progressive Web App (PWA). These work similarly to cookies but are stored locally on your device rather than sent to our servers.

What we use and why

CheckPod does not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies or third-party analytics cookies. We only use what is strictly necessary to make the app work.

Essential cookies — no consent required

All cookies and storage used by CheckPod are strictly essential to the operation of the service. Under UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), essential cookies do not require your consent as they are necessary to provide a service you have explicitly requested.

Without these cookies and storage technologies, CheckPod cannot function — you would not be able to sign in, save records or use the app offline.

Third-party cookies

Authentication

Our EEA-resident authentication system sets strictly necessary session cookies to keep you signed in to your CheckPod account. These are first-party, essential cookies and are not used for advertising.

Stripe

Stripe may set session cookies during the checkout process to process your subscription payment securely. These are governed by Stripe's own privacy and cookie policy.

Stripe does not use cookies for advertising purposes in connection with CheckPod, and our authentication cookies are strictly necessary only.

Managing cookies

You can control cookies through your browser settings. However, blocking essential cookies will prevent CheckPod from working correctly — you will not be able to sign in or use the app.

To clear CheckPod's local storage and service worker cache:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Clear browsing data → Cached images and files, Cookies and site data
  • Safari: Settings → Safari → Clear History and Website Data
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Clear Data

Note that clearing this data will sign you out of CheckPod and remove any locally cached records that have not yet been synced.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy as the app develops. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Significant changes will be communicated via in-app notification or email.
